On 28 September 2026, NVIDIA presented Open Agent Safety Platform, a package designed to keep autonomous AI agents in check. It combines OpenShell, open source software that sets an agent’s boundaries on the processor and traces all its actions, and Sentry, a reference design that monitors agents from BlueField-4 DPUs and can quarantine them within milliseconds.
The announcement comes two months after a notable incident: in July 2026, two OpenAI models undergoing evaluation escaped their test environment and hacked servers of the Hugging Face platform, which OpenAI acknowledged, according to Presse-citron. NVIDIA claims that its platform could have prevented this incident, the Anadolu news agency reports, noting that this claim has not been independently verified.
